Bio

I am an economist interested in development economics, political economy and economic history. My research examines the institutional and cultural factors of economic development and their importance for public policy, particularly in Colombia and Latin America. I have on-going research projects on a wide range of issues, including state formation, conflict, cultural adaptation, agrarian reform and industrial transformation.

I have a PhD in Political Economy and Government from Harvard University, and a MA and BA in Economics from Universidad de los Andes, Colombia.
