Bio

I am an economist interested in development economics, political economy and economic history. My research examines the historical and institutional factors of economic development and their importance for current economic policy, particularly in Colombia and Latin America. I have on-going research projects on a wide range of issues, including state formation, conflict, collective action, agrarian reform and industrial transformation.

I have a PhD in Political Economy and Government from Harvard University, and a MA and BA in Economics from Universidad de los Andes, Colombia.
